Introduction to Online Dating, Part 2

Nowadays, the computer can't make it any easier for us to find someone to match up with. Now if it could only tell us what to do when we do land our match, then yes, we'd have it made. These sites can have a major time saving impact by helping to weed out the person who may not be right for us. Nothing like dating someone for two months to find out he's a Scorpio and not the Leo you always wanted.

You know right up front (because of the long list of questions they ask in your profile) every single, intricate detail that you need to know about a person, that is, unless, of course, they're not telling the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth, so help them Bill Gates. But the good news is, most people who have been Internet dating for any length of time have discovered that fudging with the truth works heavily against them. (Gee, how surprising!) Telling the truth gets you matched up quicker to a person who is looking for your type. (You know, the honest type.) And believe me, there's more out there looking for that type than you ever could imagine.

Some typical beginning questions are: How does one go about looking for matchmaker sites? What kinds are there? How will I know which one is for me? How will I know if I qualify to be in a certain site? (If you're a human being, you qualify. Trust me.) Well funny you should ask. I am here to guide you.

In searching the different sites, I came across one for just about every situation humanly imaginable, ranging from religious sites to sites for millionaires. If you look hard enough, you will find one that will be just right for you. If you believe you're in a category there isn't a site for, you would have to belong to another species besides human. You need to keep searching or focus on some aspect about your life to make yourself fit into one.

Start off by typing "Internet dating," "online dating," or "matchmaker sites" in any of the search engines. Here's a few sites that I pulled up when I did a search. Let's start with sites for the different religious groups, which are plentiful. There are Jewish sites, Latter Day Saint sites, Christian sites, Catholic sites, and of course, Atheist sites. (Do Atheist sites really fall under religious affiliations?) I guess some people gave up on the concept of actually meeting at church. I know I did. I would go to every "singles" functions my church ever sponsored, and with every one I went to, the people were already paired up. Discouraged because I did think that these were "singles" functions, there was little left for me to do but attempt to break up those happy little couples. Oh give me a break, will ya? I'm just kidding.

I found numerous sites for different cultures as well. They include Indian, Asian, Russian, Latino, Canadian, Eastern European, and if you look deep enough, it wouldn't surprise me if there is a "Red Neck" site somewhere out there in them thar hills. You never know. If anything, this is definitely International teamwork. In what other arena do you find the entire world working together on "togetherness?" Think about it; one big, melting love-pot.

Sites are even broken down socioeconomically. There are sites for millionaires, professionals, and I actually saw a sight for highly intelligent people. (Gee, where does that leave the remaining 98% of the population?) I guess this is an easy way to narrow the search for that money tree that some of you ladies are constantly looking for, doesn't it?
