Photos, Part 6
Here's another major concern when addressing the issue of photos, how recent is it? You would think the average person, with an average IQ of, let's say 50, would automatically post a picture that was taken within the last 12 months, you know, to let their potential prospects know what they truly look like. Well, that was my thought initially too, but noooooooo. We have to continually make things more difficult, don't we?
A friend of mine told me that when he went to meet his date for the first time; he thought the woman who greeted him was his date's mother. The woman had apparently posted her high school graduation picture, ASSUMING he wouldn't notice the twenty-five year age gap. And she thought that photo would work? What could she have possibly been thinking? (Thinking being the key word here.)
The only way I would post my high school graduation picture is if I were trying to impress someone who spends the majority of their time at the local Braille institute.
Eliminate most surprise elements of a first date by posting a photo that shows how you currently look. That way the date will have a much higher probability of going smoothly.
When I was commenting about how attractive this one guy's photo was, he said, "Oh yeah, that's the one where I still had hair." Alrightythen.
Okay, so I'm back to talking about men's pictures when I was supposed to be talking about the women's photos. Am I getting graded here? Then I see no problem, do you?
Anyhow, this particular case is a rarity when it comes to the age of photos, but one guy posted photos that were seven years old, and the only way I knew was when he told me. I never would have guessed that this man had not changed significantly over that length of time. I begged him to tell me where he was hiding the fountain of youth. Besides that he had a body that could force many of the Chippendales into early retirement.
No real reason or significance for that example except for the fact he was soooo cute. (Still is.) Oh, now you're wondering what happened with this guy. People tell me I have a habit of not finishing stories, complete hogwash; I don't believe I do that at all.
Okay, back to women's pictures once again. You should be aware of another complaint I hear quite often from men. It's when they see a really hot chick, I mean really hot, nine out of ten times, they're directed to go to the woman's personal web page. It usually turns out that the "hottie" is offering some sort of service where money is exchanged, specifically his money going to her. I think this is sad, and I think it turns off most guys. (At least the money part.) Even if guys are out there just to get laid, they don't want to give out credit card numbers. There's already too many sites designed specifically for those services, (Besides, guys know that sooner or later credit cards are going to be a BIG part in any relationship he has with a woman, right?) I'm sure in some cases these personal Web site scams work, but I feel they only pollute the personal ads and gives the rest of us sweet, caring, loving girls a bad name.
